We'll run through things quickly on arrival... there's nothing too complicated!
We'll show you how to use the heating (respecting the environment and our budget), how to close the terrace windows (the most complicated bit!) and, if you want, we'll tell you all about the village (the shop, bar, restaurant, church, who to avoid, who to bribe...).
And then we'll leave you in peace and quiet!
We're becoming increasingly ecological: in this part of the world especially, we save water... and, in winter, please be reasonable with the heating.
Both rooms have electric heaters, installed in December 2024, so they're high tech and efficient - but very expensive to run!
Stay warm, but stay green!
When you rent our gite in Provence, the most important thing to remember is also the simplest: Chez David is our house and our home!
It will be your home for the duration of your stay, and we hope it feels like that, we really do - it will be your private, cosy space, and we won't be disturbing you.
But once you've gone, we'll be using the same space - the same lounge, terrace, shower, bed, loo - so please take great care of these precious things!
In short: please treat the apartment like a home and NOT a hotel! Think of it as going to stay at a friend's - how would you leave your friend's apartment?
(Okay, okay, you knew that last bit already - but it's important to us).
Well, as we say elsewhere, the flat is not made for kids or if you have mobility problems (and we're sorry about that).
It's an atypical home... but totally typical of an old village house in an old village in the south of France (which is why we love it!). And you will too, we're sure!
