Park the car just in front of the house with garden, push open the garden gate, climb a few steps and meander through the partly-walled, partly-wild garden - planted with two fig trees, an olive, bamboo (for extra privacy) and a colourful assortment of flowers - to the Garden Flat...
The entrance to the Garden Flat is just behind the cherry tree.
The Garden Flat, in common with the entire house, was renovated in its entirety in 2024 to a very high standard. It sleeps two people in a double bed.
As you step inside the apartment (yes, a few more steps), in front of you you'll see the bedroom, with vaulted ceiling, large windows overlooking the garden, double bed, en-suite shower, and other basic necessities.
Through the passageway is the lounge with a double sofa-bed, kitchen corner, loo and various items of furniture... not to mention two terraces! The first terrace faces south (but is protected from the sun), and the second faces east - and both look onto the garden... and Cezanne's celebrated Sainte Victoire.

The entrance to the Garden Flat is just behind Bob the Dog.
The renovated décor is a mix of contemporary and Provencal style with very large windows that fills the rooms with light.

Unfortunately, as ours is an old Provencal house, the gite is not suitable for anyone who struggles with walking - there are quite a few steps - or for young children.
The lounge, with two brand-new sofas, has one set of French windows (as seen here) that give on to the terrace, and another that lead on to the covered patio.

The village of Vaugines is a peaceful hamlet that is popular with walkers and horse-riders. It boasts a shop-cum-bakery, a bar (serving pizzas and the like) and restaurant.
Vaugines is situated on the crest of a hill between the villages of Cucuron and its better-known neighbour Lourmarin, the final resting place of Albert Camus. Vaugines' claim to fame is that parts of Jean de Florette and Manon des Sources were filmed here.
Our gite is likely to appeal to visitors looking for homely charm and comfort, and who enjoy the outdoor life, especially walking and cycling.
The gite is also a place to recharge your batteries if you or hungry for peace and quiet... but still want to be close to the cultural sites of, for example, Aix or Avignon.
